Big feelings. Brave kids.
Real superpowers.

Big feelings can be confusing—for kids and caregivers alike. Anxiety, worry, big reactions, shutdowns, or that constant “on-edge” feeling aren’t signs that something is wrong with your child. They’re signals from a nervous system working hard to keep them safe.

Inside EMDR Superhero School, children aren’t pressured to relive their hardest moments or explain feelings they don’t yet have words for. Instead, they’re guided to notice their strengths, build new skills, and discover just how capable and resilient they already are.

Because when kids see themselves as heroes, healing becomes something they do—not something that happens to them.

Who It’s For

EMDR Superhero School is best for children (approximately ages 5–12) who feel overwhelmed by big emotions or a nervous system stuck on high alert.

  • Kids experiencing anxiety, worry, or frequent fear responses

  • Children with trauma histories or stressful experiences

  • ADHD or impulse-control challenges

  • Big feelings, meltdowns, shutdowns, or “always on” bodies

  • Kids who don’t love traditional talk therapy and do better with play, movement, and imagination

  • Caregivers who want practical tools to support progress at home

What Makes It Special

This program transforms evidence-based trauma therapy into an empowering hero story. Each chapter aligns with the eight phases of EMDR, reimagined as stages of superhero training. Children learn to identify “villains” like worry or fear, build protective gear using DBT/CBT coping skills, and unlock “hero truths” that replace shame and self-doubt with strength and clarity.

When kids understand their reactions as signals—not flaws—change becomes possible.

What Your Child Will Learn

Real-life superpowers your child can build

  • Understand how their brain and body respond to stress

  • Name emotions and notice early “signal signs”

  • Learn calming strategies (breathing, grounding, movement)

  • Build coping “gear” for worry, fear, and overwhelm

  • Practice confidence skills and self-talk that reduces shame

  • Strengthen connection and communication with caregivers

How It's Used

EMDR Superhero School is flexible and tailored to each child’s needs. It’s most often used in individual therapy, where children move through superhero “training missions” at their own pace using play, movement, and EMDR-informed strategies. The program can also be adapted for small group sessions or integrated into ongoing EMDR therapy as a child-friendly framework that makes healing more approachable and empowering. E ach child’s journey includes:

  • A developmentally appropriate, child-friendly workbook

  • Guided therapist-led lessons and hero missions

  • Caregiver support tools to reinforce skills at home

Because healing doesn’t just happen in session—it grows through practice, connection, and confidence in everyday life.
